Take note of the names of the NIC's
(Network
Interface Card), in this e.g. the blue NIC is my home LAN card, and the
red one is the NIC connecting to the @home modem. This will be referred to
as the Shared NIC from now on. The names of your NIC's will probably
differ slightly.
Note The coloured marks are only here to display the different NIC's , they will not appear on your system. The best way to identify the NIC connected to your cable modem is to take note of it before you install the second NIC.

The computer name can be
anything you like as long as each PC is different, as you see I have named
mine after the Operating System.
The workgroup name can be anything you like, but for ease of
installation and identification I recommend you use same on both/all machines. The Computer Description is not
important. |
