NOTE: This guide is aimed at Optusnet Cable users, but will work with most ISP's (some settings will be different though).
On these few pages I hope to show you step by step, how to setup your own LAN, (Local Area Network), and also how to share your Internet Connection between two or more PC's. I will assume that you have the necessary cables and hardware needed already.
You should have at least one NIC (Network Interface Card) installed already, and hopefully your second one in your Server/Sharing PC as well as one NIC in the Client PC.
Alternatively if you use a Router, click here .
Note If you have a USB adapter between your cable modem and your NIC, and experience problems, (which quite a few people do), either buy another NIC (the recommended option) or you can try a different sharing program such as Sygate.
If you have any problem's or questions, please email me or visit the athome.aus.technical newsgroup.

If you came here from another site click here to return.
